A life lived powerfully is one of Decision, Determination, and Focus

decisionWow what a deep statement! I want to take this time to stress the importance of an individual deCiding to embrace that statement, it’s absolutely remarkable what would happen..

Imagine finally making that decision …

Your DECISION kills off any thoughts of turning back. All the doubt and second guessing just falls away.  It shows you the one true path that you’re going to take; the path of self-empowerment.

Imagine not giving up this time.  Imagine being so determined that when that obstacle comes (You know the one I am talking about.  The one that  always come up…yup that one.) this time it will not defeat you; it won’t push you BACK down, this time.  When it comes, you will stomp it to the ground, never to resurrect its ugly head again.

Imagine you are so focused that those around you start to notice. They notice there’s a different  glimmer in your eyes.  You’re walking and talking just a little bit faster.  Your head is lifted just a little bit higher.  You are accomplishing things that in times past you would have quit within weeks and (let’s keep it real) sometimes within days if one little obstacle blocked you.

But you just keep saying “not this time.”  This time I will stay on task.  I will not be easily distracted by the next shiny pretty carrot that is dangling in front of me.  This time I will plan better, organize better, and prepare better.

I truly believe that when a person finally makes that DECISION and is DETERMINED to get the job done, FOCUSING on the task in front of them, this is when that 12/1/55 Moment takes place.  This is the moment they ain’t going to the back of the bus.  This is the moment that they start  to create a powerful legacy in their family.  It’s the moment when the kids start wanting to be like you when they grow up; you are their hero, not some basketball player they have never met.  Their hero become you!  How awesome is that!

This is the moment your spouse remembers why he/she married you, it’s the moment that your  parents say “I always knew you had it in you.”

Most importantly,  it’s the moment that you look yourself in the mirror, pump your fist in the air, and say “I did it!  Finally I did it!  And now that I have done this, there is nothing that I can’t do!”  The word ‘can’t’ has no meaning to you anymore.  This is the moment you will be able to reference back to when you tackle the next task.  OH YEAH!  THERE WILL BE A NEXT ONE!  But this time, for the first time in a long time you are optimistically excited about that next task.  You are officially UNSTOPPABLE!!!

Remember, “Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has overcome.” – Booker T. Washington –
